Doily

Francesca Lombardi creates a series of masks, each is composed of a single crocheted doily. By re-contextualizing the commonplace object, it can be seen as the adornment for the human face. The fabric becomes a three-dimensional statement, each pattern serving as a decorative element not unlike any accessory. The result are portrait made by Giacomo Favilla that are invoking images of an alternate, but familiar reality.
